CEO Mark Schneider Resigned from Nestlé; Company Veteran Laurent Freixe Takes Charge

Nestlé’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mark Schneider has resigned from the post after eight years of leading the company through major changes. Laurent Freixe is set to replace Schneider on September 01, the company announced on August 22, 2024.

Having joined Nestlé in 1986, Laurent Freixe has held a number of senior positions, directing the company’s European operations throughout the 2008 financial crisis and most recently heading its Americas and Latin America divisions.

When Schneider took the charge as CEO of Nestlé in 2016, he was the first outsider to hold the top senior post for almost a century. Schneider had previously served as CEO of the German healthcare business Fresenius.
