Senior Executive of Mahindra Gurpratap Boparai Steps Down
Gurpratap Boparai, the CEO overseeing Mahindra’s automotive ventures in Europe, including Mahindra Trucks & Buses (MTB) and construction equipment, has tendered his resignation from the company. This announcement came through an internal circular signed by Rajesh Jejurikar, the Executive Director and CEO of the auto and farm sectors.
Having commenced his tenure with Mahindra in 2022, Boparai took on the responsibility of leading its European operations, which encompassed Peugeot Motors and Automobili Pininfarina. The circular mentioned that he has opted to explore opportunities beyond the Mahindra Group. His final day with the company is slated for May 31, 2024.
Vinod Sahay, currently serving as president of Aerospace and Defence and Chief Purchase Officer (CPO) for auto and farm sectors (AFS), will assume additional responsibilities for the truck and bus as well as construction equipment business units. Effective May 31, 2024, Sahay will be appointed as president and Chief Purchase Officer (CPO) for AFS, while also taking on the roles of President for Aerospace and Defence, MTBD, and CE.
These changes are set to take effect on June 1, 2024.
Furthermore, following this transition, the manufacturing and supply chain functions for MTBD and CE will be integrated into Sahay’s purview, with Jalaj Gupta, Business Head for MTBD and CE, reporting directly to Sahay. Rajeev Goyal, the CFO for AFS, will oversee the APF business during this transitional phase, following Boparai’s departure.
