Great Eastern Shipping Reappoints Raju Shukla and Ranjit Pandit as Independent Directors
The Board of Directors of The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited has recommended to the shareholders the reappointment of Raju Shukla and Ranjit Pandit as Independent Directors for a term of 3 years, with effect from June 1, 2024.
Raju Shukla, currently serving as the Executive Chairman and Founder of Cleantech Renewable Assets, leads a pan-Asian independent power producer specialising in the ownership and operation of solar power plants across Southeast Asia and India, catering to industrial and corporate clients. In addition, he is the founder of Ariana Investment Management, a fund management company, and has served as its CEO. He also held the position of Non-Executive Chairman at Ocean Dial Asset Management. With over a decade of experience, he previously served as the Managing Director at Barclays Bank plc., Singapore, and held senior management roles at Deutsche Bank, SBC Warburg, and DSP Merrill Lynch over a span of nine years before joining Barclays. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from IIM Ahmedabad and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Visvesvaraya Regional College, Nagpur.
Ranjit Pandit’s tenure at General Atlantic, LLC, spanned from 2007 to 2012, where he initially served as a Managing Director and later transitioned to the role of Advisory Director in 2013. Before his association with General Atlantic, he held the position of Managing Director and Chairman at McKinsey & Co. in India, where he co-founded McKinsey’s India practice. Currently, he holds the position of Non-Executive Director in all consumer businesses of Reliance Industries Ltd, including Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd, and Reliance Retail Ltd. He also serves as a Non-Executive Director at CEAT Ltd. and Just Dial Ltd. Beyond his corporate engagements, he is actively involved as an investor and philanthropist, holding a controlling interest in several manufacturing businesses. He possesses an MBA degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.E. degree in Electronic Engineering from VJTI, University of Bombay.
