Wipro’s Jatin Dalal Stepped Down, Aparna Iyer Takes Over as New CFO
Wipro, the IT services company, announced that its Chief Financial Officer, Jatin Dalal, resigned on September 21, 2023, after serving the company for 21 years. The company has promoted Aparna C Iyer, an internal candidate, as the new CFO effective from September 22, 2023, Wipro said in an exchange filing. His last day with the company will be at the end of November.
Dalal, who was the company’s CFO since 2015, mentioned that he wants to pursue his career goals outside the organization.
Iyer, a chartered accountant, started working at Wipro in April 2003. Before her recent promotion, she held the role of Senior Vice President (SVP) of Finance and was the Chief Financial Officer for Wipro’s FullStride Cloud unit. Iyer will work under the leadership of CEO Thierry Delaporte and become a part of the Wipro executive board.
Dalal’s resignation came as a surprise to the analysts and industry observers. Dalal’s resignation follows several top-level departures at the IT firm over the past year and adds to the uncertainty. Other key exits this year included Sanjeev Singh, the chief operating officer; Satya Easwaran, the country head; Mohd Haque, the Senior Vice President and head of healthcare and medical devices for the Americas; and the Senior Vice President and head of the manufacturing and hi-tech business unit.
