Wipro Appoints Laura Marie Miller To Board, Reappoints Deepak M. Satwalekar As Independent Director

IT services company Wipro has appointed Laura Marie Miller to its Board of Directors, effective April 1, 2026, subject to shareholder approval. The company has also reappointed Deepak M. Satwalekar as an Independent Director for a second term.

Miller was part of the executive leadership team at Macy’s, where she worked on digital, data, and AI initiatives. Earlier, she held roles at InterContinental Hotels Group and First Data in technology and operations. She has also served on the Boards of listed companies. Miller earlier served as a Director at EVO Payments, which was later acquired by Global Payments, and at LGI Homes. She now serves as a Non-Executive Director at NCR Voyix and Ahold Delhaize. She has worked in digital transformation, technology operations, and strategy at companies across sectors.

Satwalekar joined the company’s Board in July 2020 and serves as lead Independent Director. He chairs the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee, Administrative and Shareholders/Investors Grievance Committee, and is a member of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. He was Managing Director of HDFC Ltd. and CEO of HDFC Standard Life Insurance Co. Ltd. He has consulted for the World Bank, ADB, USAID, and UN-HABITAT, and served on Advisory Boards of European banks and NGOs supporting education for underprivileged communities. He chaired the RBI Corporate Governance committee and contributed to IRDAI and PFRDA panels. Satwalekar is Chairman of Home First Finance Company and holds degrees from IIT Bombay and The American University, Washington D.C.
