Vijayalakshmi Rajaram Iyer Steps Down As Independent Director Of Aditya Birla Capital

Vijayalakshmi Rajaram Iyer has resigned as Non-Executive Independent Director of Aditya Birla Capital Limited due to personal and professional commitments, effective November 27, 2025.

Iyer has nearly four decades of experience in India’s banking and finance sector. She retired as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Bank of India in May 2015, where she helped structure the bank as a full-service financial institution and guided it to awards for growth and trust. She also served as a member (finance & investment) at IRDAI from 2015 to 2017, contributing to regulations on finance, Corporate Governance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and coordination with national and international financial authorities, including the RBI, SEBI, and the Financial Stability Board. Iyer graduated from M.L. Dahanukar College of Commerce and completed her post-graduation from Sydenham College of Commerce, Mumbai, and is a certified associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance.
