UK Sinha Retired as an Independent Director of Vedanta

Upendra Kumar Sinha has retired from the Board of Vedanta Limited as an Independent Director upon completion of his second and final term on August 10, 2024.

Sinha presided over the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for more than six years, between 2011 and 2017. Prior to that, he served as the Chairman and Managing Director of UTI Asset Management Company Pvt. Ltd. An IAS officer of the 1976 batch, he oversaw the Banking and Capital Markets Divisions as the Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Finance. He holds LLB and M.Sc. degrees.
