UIDAI Appoints Bhuvnesh Kumar As CEO

Bhuvnesh Kumar has taken over as the Chief Executive Officer of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

Kumar is a 1995 batch IAS officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre and has assumed the role of CEO of UIDAI, as announced by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). He also serves as an Additional Secretary at MeitY and has held several key positions at the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh.

He is a gold medallist from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kurukshetra, and has previously served as Principal Secretary for Animal Husbandry in Uttar Pradesh and Joint Secretary at MeitY. UIDAI, responsible for implementing Aadhaar, facilitates government service delivery, fraud reduction, and digital identity management across sectors like banking and telecommunications.
