Udai Singh Appointed MD & CEO of Schneider Electric Infrastructure
Udai Singh is appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Schneider Electric Infrastructure Limited, for a period of three years with effect from September 15, 2023, subject to the approval of shareholders of the Company. While Arnab Roy resigned from the post of Non-Executive Director with effect from September 14, 2023.
Udai Singh has more than 30 years of experience. He began his career with L&T in 1991. The E&A business where Singh was working was later acquired by Schneider Electric India, a sister company. Before his current position as the Vice President of the Electrical Systems Equipment (ESE) Business Unit, he led Sales and After Sales for India, SAARC and Africa, and managed key accounts. He is a well-respected professional in the industry and currently has a seat in the Switchgear MV/HV Committee at IEEMA (Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers Association). Singh holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from IIT (BHU) Varanasi and has completed leadership programs at Ross Business School and INSEAD.
Arnab Roy who has resigned from his position of Non-Executive Director has 22 years of experience mainly with US multinational companies. He’s been a CFO and Head of Operations at US-based firms for the past 12 years, working with leadership teams in the country and APAC. He’s also held CFO roles at companies like Schneider Electric, GE, Tyco Healthcare, G4S, and Herbalife. He also worked as the CFO for Supply Chain at GE and then for GE’s Industrial Solutions business in India. Prior to that, he served as the CFO and Director of Operations for Tyco Healthcare in South Asia. In addition, he led the HR Division in India for Herbalife, a US company. His career began as a Controller at Timken, a Tata Group Company, before he joined Herbalife. He completed an Executive MBA program at IIM-Bangalore and is certified as a Black Belt in Six Sigma by GE. He has an Economics degree and is a qualified Professional Accountant.
