UBS Announces Changes To Group Executive Board & Vice Chairman Nomination

Markus Ronner, Group Chief Compliance and Governance Officer, will be nominated as Vice Chairman of the UBS Group AG Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in April 2026.

Michelle Bereaux will move from Group Integration Officer to Group Head Compliance and Operational Risk Control effective January 1, 2026.

Beatriz Martin will become Group Chief Operating Officer (COO), overseeing Non-Core and Legacy, Sustainability, Group Operations, and integration of Credit Suisse, effective January 1, 2026.

Mike Dargan will continue as Group Chief Technology Officer, focusing on technology platforms, AI, and digital assets, effective January 1, 2026.

Ronner has served as Group Chief Compliance and Governance Officer at UBS since 2018, overseeing compliance, financial crime prevention, operational risk control, and regulatory and governance functions at the Group level. With over 40 years at UBS, he has held senior roles across businesses and non-financial risk management, including COO Asset Management, COO Wealth Management & Swiss Bank, Head Products and Services of Wealth Management & Swiss Bank, Head Group Internal Audit, and Manager of the Group-wide too-big-to-fail programme. From 2022 to 2023, he served as Chairman of UBS Switzerland AG. Ronner’s experience spans compliance, governance, risk, and operational leadership. He holds a Swiss Banking Diploma and has contributed to shaping UBS’s regulatory and operational frameworks at a global level.

Bereaux leads UBS’s efforts to consolidate Credit Suisse, coordinating integration plans and milestones across the firm. With over 25 years at UBS, she has held key leadership positions spanning operations, human resources, and asset management. Her previous roles include COO and UK Country Head of Asset Management, COO of UBS Asset Management, Global Head of Human Resources for UBS Investment Bank, and Head of Group Efficiency and Cost Management. Bereaux has also served as Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee at UBS Ltd. She combines extensive transformation experience with expertise in law, HR, investment banking, and asset management. She holds a law degree from the University of Cambridge and a politics, economics, and law degree from the University of Buckingham.
