U.S. Labour Board Drops Claims Against Apple CEO Tim Cook
The U.S. National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has dropped allegations that Apple CEO Tim Cook violated employee rights. The Board’s general counsel withdrew several claims from a January 2025 complaint, according to a letter cited by Bloomberg.
Among the dismissed allegations was a charge that Cook violated workers’ rights with a September 2021 email stating Apple was tracking down those who leaked details from a confidential meeting. That meeting included discussions on pay equity and Apple’s stance on a Texas anti-abortion law. The NLRB also withdrew claims that Apple had broken the law through its confidentiality rules, the firing of employee Janneke Parrish, and surveillance-related practices. Apple, which denied wrongdoing, continues to face other complaints alleging restrictions on employee communications.
