Toyota Appoints Finance Chief Kenta Kon As CEO

Toyota has appointed Kenta Kon as its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO), marking a leadership change announced alongside its third-quarter results.

Kon, who currently serves as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), will take over from Koji Sato, who will step down on April 1, 2026, after three years, and assume the role of Vice Chairman and Chief Industry Officer.

Kon has held senior finance and leadership roles within the Toyota group. He served as Secretary to Chairman Akio Toyoda and later headed the accounting division. He is also the Director of Woven by Toyota, where he oversees finance and global operations and supports Toyota Motor Corporation’s shift toward a mobility-focused business. He serves as Operating Officer and CFO at Toyota Motor Corporation. In addition, he is a Director at Toyota Fudosan Co., Ltd. Kon brings experience in strategic finance, accounting operations, and governance, with responsibility for balancing financial discipline and operational execution.
