Shailesh Haribhakti and Haigreve Khaitan completed their tenure as the Independent Directors of Torrent Pharmaceuticals Limited on March 31, 2024, and ceased to be the Directors of the company.
Furthermore, Sudhir Mehta has stepped down as Director of the company with effect from March 31, 2024. He will continue to be Chairman Emeritus.
With credentials as a certified cost accountant, internal auditor, certified financial planner, and fraud examiner, Shailesh Haribhakti is a respected professional. Haribhakti holds positions as an Independent Director, Board Chairman, and Chair of the Audit Committee at well-known companies. He serves as an Independent Director at a number of companies, including Bennett Coleman & Co. Ltd., Blue Star, Bajaj Electrical, L&T Finance Holdings, and Swiggy. As an advocate for environmental conservation, he is known for having pioneered the idea of “Innovate to Zero.” He is an advocate of integrated reporting (IR), ESG (environmental, social, and governance), and exponential technologies (ExTech). Along with writing two books, he regularly contributes his insights to a number of forums.
Haigreve Khaitan is the Managing Partner at Khaitan & Co., overseeing the firm’s strategic growth. With over 30 years of experience, Khaitan has led high-profile cases across industries in India. As a strategic advisor, he devises innovative solutions for legal and regulatory challenges, including M&A, restructurings, and disputes. He actively contributes to policy-making bodies, such as the Competition Commission of India and the Securities and Exchange Board of India. He has received numerous accolades, including recognition by Chambers and Partners, Legal 500, and Who’s Who Legal, and has been named an “Eminent Practitioner” and “Elite Thought Leader” in M&A.
