TMB Appoints K.V. Rama Moorthy & R. Deepak Shankar to its Board

The Board of Directors of Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Limited has approved the appointment of K.V.Rama Moorthy as Additional Director with effect from July 9, 2024, in the capacity of a Non-Executive Director. R. Deepak Shankar as Additional Director for three years, with effect from July 9, 2024, in the capacity of Independent Director.

Both the appointments are subject to the approval of the shareholders

The Board of Directors has also approved the appointment of K. Ananth, Deputy General Manager as Head of Internal Audit of the Bank, with effect from August 1, 2024, in place of N. Surendran, Deputy General Manager, whose term as the Head of Internal Audit will end on July 31, 2024.

K.V. Rama Moorthy is a former MD & CEO of Tamilnad Mercantile Bank. Moorthy has more than 41 years of experience and he has worked with two public sector Banks viz. Bank of Baroda and United Bank of India. He was an Executive Director in Bank of Baroda. He holds a bachelor’s degree in science (agriculture) from Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University, Hyderabad and is a certified associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers.

R. Deepak Shankar holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration. After completion of MBA, he has spent his time in expanding his family business of Manufacturing of poly bags & safety matches. He has 19 years of extensive experience in SSI/MSME sector. He is also a Director in Thangarathinam Poly Print.
