Thomas Cook redesignates Madhavan Menon as Executive Chairman, Mahesh Iyer elevated as MD and CEO

The company’s board of directors in its meeting on Wednesday approved the re-designation and appointment of Madhavan Menon as Executive Chairman in the category of Whole-Time Director from his earlier designation as Chairman and Managing Director, Thomas Cook (India) said in a regulatory filing. Under his guidance, numerous group companies have experienced remarkable turnarounds, achieving record profits during FY 2023. In a long career spanning over four decades besides Thomas Cook, Madhavan Menon has served as Chief Operations and Administrative Officer at Birla Sunlife Asset Management Co. (AMC) Ltd, CITI Bank, and ANZ Grindlays Bank. Menon has obtained an MBA from George Washington University in the United States and holds an undergraduate degree from the American University of Beirut.

Board also approved the re-designation of Mahesh Iyer as MD and CEO from his earlier designation as Executive Director and CEO. Mahesh Iyer has a total experience of over 30 years. He is an expert in the operations of the company, strategic planning, nurturing, and building key relationships. He holds a Master’s degree in Marketing Management from JBIMS and has completed a Business Management degree from IIM Kolkata.
