The New Standard: Facilitating Excellence In Compliance And Ethics
What began as a Legasis initiative has now evolved into an industry event. This year Legasis hosted its flagship event – the 11th edition of the Compliance 10/10 Awards and Symposium: Futurecasters Summit. Over the years the event has brought together professionals who championed compliance and ethics across domains to celebrate their shared passion for championing their work and excellence. The theme for this year was ‘Elephants in the Room’. The day-long event was a successful blend of the exchange of knowledge and a recognition ceremony, amid the backdrop of unmatched professional solidarity and tremendous enthusiasm.
The day was carefully planned to provide the most strategic value to the professionals attending. The morning began with intensive Masterclasses on topics – ‘Be Compliant’ and ‘Enemy at the Gate and Seated Next to You: Exploring Cyber Risk, Data Privacy, and AI-Driven Risks’. These masterclasses, led by domain experts, were dynamic and engaging, and gathered audience insights to address contemporary issues – ‘Elephants in the Room’ and then partnering with the audience to discover a solution, a plan of action, and how to move forward. The masterclass’s fundamental goal remained unchanged: to embed a compliance culture within the organization and enable teams. The Masterclasses and methods used ensured that contemporary concerns were addressed, leaving professionals with greater foresight for their work.
The program seamlessly transitioned into the afternoon, focusing on critical dialogues through a vibrant panel discussion. Senior executives, compliance champions and regulatory authorities joined the stage to discuss crucial subjects such as the future of governance, risk, assurance, and ethical leadership in times of Brittle Anxious, Non-Linear, and Incomprehensible (BANI), as well as the indispensable role of technology in navigating BANI. The discussions were robust and provided a forum for constructive debate on the industry’s strategic imperatives.
The awards ceremony was a highlight of the day, which justly honoured the steadfast dedication and invaluable contributions of compliance and ethics professionals. The recognition highlighted the indispensable nature of their work—frequently in the background yet crucial for maintaining corporate integrity and stability. Chosen by an impartial jury from more than 900 nominations, the recipients exemplified outstanding commitment and achievement in their areas.
The atmosphere was one of celebration and camaraderie, reinforcing the strength of the professional community and inspiring a renewed sense of purpose among attendees. The event featured prominent industry figures like Mr M. Damodaran and Mr Keki Mistry, whose outstanding contributions have transformed industry standards and established new benchmarks for others. Enhancing the significance of the event were Hon’ble Mr Justice Abhay Oka (Former Judge, Supreme Court of India), who attended as Chief Guest, and Hon’ble Mr Justice S. V. Gangapurwala (Former Chief Justice, Madras High Court), who was the Chairman of the Independent Jury.
One of the most significant characteristics of the summit was the remarkable degree of networking. The elevated energy level continued during breaks and focused sessions, encouraging exceptional collaboration among peers.
Professionals actively exchanged ideas, best practices, and cemented ties that will definitely serve as valuable resources in their future professional adventures.
