The Government of India Appoints Mundkur Kamath as MD at MRPL

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, has approved the appointment of Mundkur Shyamprasad Kamath as Additional Director designated as Managing Director at Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited with effect from February 28, 2024. He replaced Sanjay Varma, who served as the Managing Director (Additional Charge).

Kamath has been serving as Executive Director (Refinery) of MRPL so far. He has over 30 years of experience in the downstream hydrocarbon industry. Earlier, he held various leadership roles, demonstrating expertise in various areas. He has been instrumental in steering the refinery towards cutting-edge advancements by championing the integration of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from MIT Manipal and a postgraduate diploma in management from TA Pai Management Institute Manipal.
