The Board Of Shree Cement Reappoints Uma Ghurka As Independent Director

The Board of Directors of Shree Cement Limited, on September 18, has approved the reappointment of Uma Ghurka as a Non-Executive Independent Director for a second term of five years commencing from November 11, 2024. Subject to approval of the members.

Uma Ghurka founded Thermo Group – Thermopads Pvt. Ltd., Thermo Cables Ltd., and Thermosystems Pvt. Ltd. She has over four decades of experience. Currently she is the MD of Thermosystems Pvt. Ltd. and Director in Thermo Cables Ltd., Thermo Capital Private Ltd., and the Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs of India. She served as a Non-Executive Director at the State Bank of Hyderabad. She was also honoured with “Best Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 1984” by the President of India; one of the 50 leading women entrepreneurs globally (being the only one from India) in 1999; and received the Distinguished Alumni Award from IIT Madras in 2012. She graduated with a B.Tech. degree from IIT, Madras.
