TCS Received Notice From The Maharashtra Labour Ministry

India’s largest IT services company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has been questioned by the labour ministry of Maharashtra for delaying the hiring of experienced professionals. This issue was raised by the Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES), a union of IT employees based in Pune.

According to NITES, over 200 employees have faced problems due to these delays. The labour ministry has called for a meeting between TCS and NITES on November 2, 2023, to address the issue.

TCS has been experiencing a decrease in its workforce, with more than 6,000 fewer employees in the third quarter of 2023 compared to the previous quarter. The company’s IT services attrition rate has decreased to 14.9% during the same quarter.

TCS is adapting its hiring strategies by focusing on recruiting and training fresh talent. While specific details about campus visits for hiring were not mentioned, the company is clearly recalibrating its hiring plans.
