
Tata Trusts Vice Chairman Vijay Singh Resigns From Tata Sons Board
Vijay Singh, Vice Chairman of Tata Trusts, stepped down from the Tata Sons Board effective September 11, 2025. He was serving as a Nominee Director of the Tata Trusts, which collectively hold 52% of Tata Sons.
Singh will continue as a trustee of Tata Trusts.
Singh is a retired IAS officer of the 1970 batch (Madhya Pradesh cadre). He served in government for 37 years, holding senior positions at both state and central levels. He was Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh from 2004 to 2006 and later became Defence Secretary of India. He also served as Secretary in the Department of Ayush and the Department of Road Transport and Highways, besides key roles in health, chemicals and fertilisers, information and broadcasting, and culture. Post-retirement, he was a member of the Union Public Service Commission until 2013.
