Sushil Chandra quits the Dabur Board Upon Joining Lokpal of India

Sushil Chandra has tendered his resignation from the post of Non-Executive Independent Director of Dabur India Limited, with effect from March 11, 2024. He has been appointed a member of the Lokpal of India and hence cannot continue with the company as an Independent Director.

Sushil Chandra is a 1980 batch IRS (IT) officer and was the 24th Chief Election Commissioner of India. Chandra served as the chairperson of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). He has also attended various trainings at the IMF, the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, and the Wharton School of Management. He started his career in the Indian Engineering Service. Later, he joined the 1980 batch of the Indian Revenue Service. Before his elevation to the position of Member of the Central Board of Direct Taxes, he held the positions of Director General of Income Tax, Gujarat, and Principal Chief Commissioner, Gujarat. In February 2019, he was appointed as the Election Commissioner of India and took office as the Chief Election Commissioner of India in April 2021. He has been involved in 16 elections, including five as chief election commissioner, and was superannuated in May 2022. He completed a B-Tech from Roorkee University and an LLB from DAV College, Dehradun.
