Surajit Mishra & Chitta Ranjan Mohapatra Appointed As Directors At SAIL

Surajit Mishra and Chitta Ranjan Mohapatra have been appointed as Directors at Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) effective July 15, 2025.

Mishra joined SAIL/Visvesvaraya Iron & Steel Limited (VISL) on July 4, 1990, as a Management Trainee (Technical). He has worked in various capacities across the Electrical Maintenance division of Hot Rolling Mills, the Blast Furnace Project, and the Steel Melting Shop. He has contributed to modernising electrical drive systems and process automation at the plant level. Mishra completed his B.E. (Electrical) from the College of Engineering and Technology (now OUTR), Bhubaneshwar.

Mohapatra began his career as a Management Trainee (Technical) at the Air Separation Plant of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). For nearly 34 years, he held various responsibilities across RSP. He was promoted to GM (Utilities) in June 2017 and GM (Services) in May 2019. He was also appointed as Head of the Material Management Department, exercising the powers of Executive Director (Materials Management) in RSP.
