
Sunil Satyapal Gulati & Alok Sethi Join Suryoday Small Finance Bank As Independent Directors
Sunil Satyapal Gulati and Alok Sethi have been appointed as Independent Directors (Additional Directors) on the Board of Suryoday Small Finance Bank Limited, with effect from March 12, 2026.
Gulati is Chairman and Independent Director at SBI Mutual Fund Trustee Company, and also serves on the Boards of Fedbank Financial Services Limited, Kauvery Hospitals, and several fintech firms. He was Chairman of Fincare Small Finance Bank until March 2024, before its merger with AU Small Finance Bank. Earlier, he held leadership roles at RBL Bank, Yes Bank, and ING Group, including serving as Chief Risk Officer at RBL Bank. He is a banking professional with about three decades of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, risk management, and corporate strategy. Gulati is a member of the Mutual Fund Advisory Committee of the Securities and Exchange Board of India. He holds a B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
Sethi served as Executive Vice President and Head of Global Operations and Technology at Franklin Templeton, where he led global operations and technology for the asset management firm, overseeing USD 1.7 trillion in assets. During a career spanning four decades, Sethi worked on operating model changes across countries, acquisitions, and technology initiatives in regulated sectors. He also contributed to the establishment and management of Global Capability Centers in India and Poland. Sethi spent more than 21 years with Franklin Templeton in leadership roles across the United States, India, and Dubai, and currently serves as a Senior Advisor to the firm. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a B.Com (Hons) degree from the University of Delhi.
