Subway Appoints Jeff Shepherd As New CFO
Subway has announced the appointment of Jeff Shepherd as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In this role, Shepherd will be responsible for overseeing Subway’s global finance organisation, optimising the brand’s worldwide financial performance, and managing information security. Working from Subway’s headquarters in Shelton, Connecticut, he will report directly to CEO John Chidsey. He replaced Ben Wells, who will retire at the end of the year after a 46-year career. The two will collaborate closely throughout the year to ensure a seamless transition, according to Subway.
Shepherd, formerly the Executive Vice President and CFO of Advance Auto Parts, played a crucial role in establishing the financial strategy and leading various finance functions at the company. His extensive background includes senior positions at General Motors Europe and leadership roles at Ernst & Young (EY), where he oversaw tax remediation efforts and developed processes to assist global clients through bankruptcy. Shepherd holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration in accounting from Central Michigan University.
