Stephen Thomas Appointed as Head of Food Services at Dmart

Stephen Thomas has been appointed Head of Food Services, designated as Senior Management Personnel (SMP) of Avenue Supermarts Limited (Dmart), with effect from May 4, 2024, to oversee the food services business.

Stephen Thomas graduated with an arts degree from MG University in Kottayam and has 28 years of experience in the hospitality and retail industry. Thomas started his career with Yum Restaurants International (Pizza Hut) as a team member in the year 1996, based out of Bangalore. He handled different portfolios in Pizza Hut as Restaurant General Manager, Area Manager, and Head of Operations for the states of Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Chhattisgarh, and the rest of Maharashtra for a span of 18 years. He was responsible for Sales, Marketing, Operations and Business Development for the restaurant business, where he developed skills that are required to run a pizza restaurant business, including the establishment of kitchens. He joined DMart in 2015 as Deputy General Manager, Operations for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He has been associated with the company since there were only 12 stores in the region, and he played a vital role in the expansion of the stores across the geography. He was promoted to General Manager of Operations (Circle Head) for Andhra Pradesh in 2021
