Star Health and Allied Insurance Appoints Rajeev Kher as an Independent Director
The Board of Directors of Start Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited has approved the appointment of Rajeev Kher as an Additional Director under Independent category with effect from June 11,2024.
Rajeev Kher has 37 years of experience in the Indian Administrative Service. He spent twenty years in senior positions in the Ministry of Environment, and the Department of Commerce, in the Government of India culminating in the position of a Commerce Secretary. He also held the position of a Member in the Competition Appellate Tribunal. He was invited to be a Distinguished Fellow of RIS- a think tank on International Economic and Development Policy. He now engages with institutions offering his expertise in various studies, consultancies and projects on Industrial, Investment and Trade Policies. He is independently consulted by well-known global companies. His experience includes an interesting mix of government and non-government institutions. He had three-year tenure with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). He is also credited with hand holding the Indian pursuit to the Pharmaceutical sector in its race to become global leader in the Generic Medicine sector. He led India initiatives in preparation of a National Strategy on Sustainable Development and preparing stakeholders for Regulatory Impact Assessments. He was also a member of the NitiAayog Task Force on Exports and Employment and is a member of the CII Expert group on Trade Policy. He is also an Advisor to the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He sits on various companies’ Boards and on the advisory Board of Private Equity firm. He lectures in various institutions on subjects of his interest and has been on consultancy assignments with several multilateral, inter-governmental and bi lateral institutions. He writes extensively on contemporary trade and industrial policy issues and has published work on India’s Patent Policy and Law, Trade Policy, WTO Dispute Settlement Mechanism, Product standards and Technical Regulations and several related areas.
