Sriram Kumar Named CFO Of Mahindra Lifespace; Avinash Bapat Moves To Group FP&A Role At Mahindra & Mahindra
Sriram Kumar has been appointed as the Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel (CFO & KMP) of Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited with effect from November 1, 2025.
Kumar succeeds Avinash Bapat, who stepped down as CFO due to his transition to the role of Group FP&A Leader at Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd., with effect from November 1, 2025, reporting to Amar Barua, President & Group CFO, Mahindra Group.
Kumar was serving as Vice President (VP) of Partnerships & Alliances at the Mahindra Group, a role he has held since March 2022. He leads fundraising, acquisitions, and divestments across the group’s auto, real estate, and holidays businesses. He has been involved in key transactions, including capital raises for Mahindra Electric Automotive Ltd. and Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Ltd., and the FirstCry IPO. With over 16 years of experience in private equity and M&A, he has previously worked with Goldman Sachs Asset Management in India and the US and with Irevna Research Services. Kumar is a Chartered Accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Madras.
Bapat has served as CFO for Mahindra Susten, Mahindra USA, and Mahindra South Africa. At Mahindra Lifespace, he led key initiatives such as the rights issue, creation of the contract and procurement vertical, and capital allocation reforms. Bapat is a Cost and Works Accountant and holds a PGDBA & CFA from ICFAI Business School. He was recognised among the Top 100 CFOs in 2020 by the CFO Next Institute.
