Spicejet Appoints Sonum Malhotra As Independent Director

The Board of Directors of Spicejet Limited has approved the appointment of Sonum Gayatri Malhotra as an Additional Director designated as an Independent Director with effect from September 14, 2024. The term of her appointment as an Independent Director will be for a period of five years and is subject to the approval of shareholders of the company.

Malhotra is a Director at Sun Group Global. She has worked with the World Economic Forum and has also served as Senior Consultant at the Ministry of Finance, Government of India (Office of Chief Economic Adviser) and as Consultant at the World Bank. She has also worked as Research Associate with the Centre for Policy Research. She has completed her M.A. in Media and Governance from the Centre for Culture, Media, and Governance (Jamia Millia Islamia University, Delhi) and B.A. (Hons.) in History (St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University). She also holds a certificate in Spanish from the Institute of Cervantes (Universidad De Valladolid, Spain).
