Som Distilleries Appoints Dinesh Batra as Independent Director

The Board of Som Distilleries & Breweries Limited has considered and approved the appointment of Dinesh Kumar Batra as an Additional Director (Non-Executive and Independent) with effect from January 17, 2024. The appointment is for a term of five consecutive years and is subject to the approval of the members.

Dinesh Kumar Batra is the former Chairman and MD of Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL). He also served as the Director (finance) and CFO of Bharat Electronics Ltd. He retired from BEL in October 2022. He is recognised for being a change agent and facilitator for the sustainable and continuous growth of the company. He has received several awards, which include Public Sector CFO of the Year 2022, Most Innovative CFO 2022, CFO of the Year 2021– PSU from CII, Steered BEL to become “The Economic Times—Iconic Brand of India—2022,” Greentech Corporate Governance Professional of the Year 2021, and the BEL Executive Excellence Award in 2010. He holds an Advanced Management Programme from MDI and European Universities, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from MDI, Gurgaon, a Post Graduate Diploma in International Marketing from IIFT, Delhi, and a B.Tech (Mech) from HBTI, Kanpur.
