Snowflake appoints Vijayant Rai as India MD, a ‘strategic market’

Vijayant Rai, former India Executive Director of Microsoft, has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Snowflake, a data cloud company, with effect from January 10. Rai’s appointment is to drive business growth and go-to-market strategies. He replaced Vimal Venkatram, who had been moved to Singapore.

Snowflake’s India expansion strategy, sales, and execution will be overseen by Vijayant Rai. As part of his role, he will also be responsible for fostering strategic partnership engagements for Snowflake’s Data Cloud across various industries, which include retail and CPG, manufacturing, the public sector, startups, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and finance.

Rai has over 27 years of experience in global software companies, which include Microsoft, Salesforce, and SAP. His last stint was with Microsoft India, where he served as the Executive Director and Country Leader in the Banking and Financial Services Vertical.
