
Simon Robson To Succeed Sally Johnson As CFO Of Pearson
Pearson has appointed Simon Robson as Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO), succeeding Sally Johnson, who will leave to become CFO of a privately owned business. Robson will join the company on March 30, 2026, and assume the role of Group CFO and Executive Director on May 8, 2026, after a transition period.
Robson has built his career in finance and strategy at Sky. He joined the company in 1997 and has held several senior roles across its operations. From 2015 to 2018, he served as CFO of Sky Deutschland. He later took on the role of Deputy Group CFO and has been Group CFO since June 2020. Robson holds a degree in accounting and finance from the University of Sheffield. He is a chartered certified accountant with experience in financial management, corporate strategy, and operational oversight within the media and communications sector.
Johnson has spent nearly 26 years at Pearson, including six years as Group CFO. During her tenure, she has overseen financial management and capital allocation across the group. She has been involved in business and finance transformation initiatives and has worked on measures related to financial performance and operational structure.
