Shyamala Gopinath Reappointed As Independent Director Of Crisil

Shyamala Gopinath has been reappointed as Independent Director of Crisil Limited, commencing July 10, 2025, subject to approval by the shareholders of the company.

Gopinath brings nearly 39 years of experience in financial sector policy and regulation through her service at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), where she served as Deputy Governor. She also served as part-time Non-Executive Chairperson of HDFC Bank Ltd. Currently, she is an Independent Director on the Boards of several companies and is a member of the Governing Council of Research and Information Systems for Developing Countries (RIS). She is also part of the WinPE ProClub Mentorship Programme. From 2001 to 2003, she was on deputation as a Senior Financial Expert at the International Monetary Fund. She later chaired the Advisory Board on Bank, Commercial and Financial Frauds (2012–2014) and SEBI’s Corporate Bonds and Securitisation Advisory Committee. Since 2012, Gopinath has held Board positions across major corporate and public sector entities.
