Shapoorji Mistry Steps Down As Chairman Of Afcons Infra, Pallon Mistry Joins Board

Shapoorji Mistry has stepped down as Chairman of Afcons Infrastructure after serving in the role for more than 25 years, including 13 years as Chairman. His son, Pallon Mistry, has been inducted into the Board, marking a step in the group’s succession planning.

Shapoor Mistry plays a central role in formulating business strategies for the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, focusing on growth across India as well as developed and emerging global markets. Over the past three decades, he has expanded the group’s core businesses in engineering and construction, infrastructure, and real estate, while also guiding its entry into new sectors, including oil and gas, renewable energy, water, and financial services. He is credited with strengthening the group’s global presence and shaping its diversification strategy. As a mentor, he empowers leadership teams to embrace challenges with innovative solutions, ensuring the group consistently delivers reliability and trust. His approach keeps the 160-year-old conglomerate future-ready, with a vision centred on sustainable and long-term value creation.

Pallon Mistry serves on the Boards of several group companies, including the parent firm, Shapoorji Pallonji and Company Pvt. Ltd. Focused on driving consistent and sustainable growth, he plays a key role in strengthening the group’s businesses in India and overseas. He emphasises building “win-win” relationships with stakeholders while ensuring the group creates a positive impact on the communities it serves. With a strong focus on making the group future-ready, Pallon actively integrates global business trends and innovations into strategy and operations. He holds a master’s degree from Imperial College, London, and joined the group in 2015.
