
Shalini Pandit Replaces Dr. Parshant Kumar Goyal As Government Nominee On LIC Board
The Government of India has nominated Shalini Pandit, Joint Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, as Government Nominee Director on the Board of Life Insurance Corporation of India, in place of Dr. Parshant Kumar Goyal, Joint Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance.
Shalini Pandit is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Odisha cadre and is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance. Prior to her central government assignment, she held several key positions in the Odisha government, including Secretary of the School & Mass Education Department, Health & Family Welfare Department, Mission Shakti Department, and Odia Language, Literature & Culture Department. She has also served as Mission Director of the National Health Mission, Labour Commissioner, Odisha, and as District Collector for multiple districts. Her contributions to education sector reforms and her leadership in the health sector during the Covid-19 pandemic have been widely recognised.
Pandit holds a bachelor’s degree in botany from Miranda House, University of Delhi, and an M.Sc. in wildlife science from the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun.
