Shailendra Singh Retires As Government Nominee Director Of RITES

Shailendra Singh has retired as the Government Nominee Director of RITES Limited, w.e.f. February 1, 2026.

Singh has served as Principal Executive Director of Environment and Projects at the Railway Board. He joined Indian Railways in 1994 as an Assistant Mechanical Engineer in the Dhanbad Division of Eastern Railway and has over three decades of service. During his career, he has held leadership roles in research and design, maintenance engineering, railway operations, policy formulation, IT management, environmental management, and project execution. At the Railway Board, he was involved in the introduction of train services and coach designs such as Humsafar, Tejas, Antyodaya, and Vande Bharat-related initiatives, as well as Anubhuti, Vistadome, and Deen Dayalu coaches. He contributed to safety standardisation, biotoilet implementation, and passenger comfort measures. Singh has also worked on high-speed corridor projects and metro systems. He has received awards from Eastern Railway, RDSO, and the Ministry of Railways.
