SEBI Issues Warning To Ola Electric For Delayed Disclosure Of Plans

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued a warning to Ola Electric Mobility for violating disclosure norms after the company announced its expansion plans on the X platform without notifying stock exchanges on January 07, 2025.

Bhavish Aggarwal, the company’s Chairman and CEO, announced the expansion of company-owned stores on the social media platform X, but the company only notified stock exchanges hours later, on BSE and NSE. SEBI emphasised the importance of timely disclosures and cautioned Ola Electric to improve its compliance standards to prevent future violations. The company had earlier received a show-cause notice from the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA).
