SEBI Appoints Dr. Sadanand S. Date As Executive Director

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has appointed Dr. Sadanand S. Date as Executive Director, he will head the investigations department of the markets regulator. Date assumed charge on March 4, according to the regulator.

Dr. Date is a 2007-batch officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS) from the Uttarakhand cadre. Before joining SEBI, he served on central deputation with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). At the agency, he worked as Superintendent of Police in the Anti-Corruption Branch and the Bank Securities and Fraud Cell. In Mumbai, Dr. Date handled assignments in the Economic Offences Branch, Special Crime Branch, Special Task Branch, and Anti-Corruption Branch. In the Uttarakhand Police, he served as Superintendent of Police and Senior Superintendent in districts including Uttarkashi, Nainital, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, and Dehradun. Dr. Date holds an MBBS from Grant Medical College and Sir JJ Group of Hospitals, and received the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
