Sanjay Asher fails to get shareholders approval for a second term on IndusInd Board
Sanjay Asher’s reappointment as a ‘Non-Executive Independent Director’ of the Indusind Bank for a second consecutive 4 years term was not approved by the Bank Members. As a result, he will step down from his position of Independent Director of the Bank when his current term ends on October 9, 2023.
Asher has been working as a lawyer since 1991 and became a certified solicitor in 1993. Currently, Asher holds the position of Senior Partner at Crawford Bayley & Co., India’s oldest law firm. His expertise lies in areas like mergers and acquisitions (M&A), international M&A, joint ventures, private equity, and capital markets. He’s also well-known for speaking at various seminars and conferences, including those organised by respected institutions like the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and International Financial Law Review. Additionally, he has written numerous articles for both national and international publications and authored a book on the Companies Act of 2013. He is a certified Chartered Accountant, has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Bombay and Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce.
