Sandeep Khetan Set To Succeed S. Anantharaman As Group Chief Risk Officer Of Jio Financial Services

Sandeep Khetan has been appointed as Group Chief Risk Officer (GCRO) and Senior Management Personnel (SMP) of Jio Financial Services Limited, effective March 23, 2026. He will be succeeding S. Anantharaman, who will be stepping down to pursue other career opportunities, effective March 20, 2026.

Khetan joined the company on 30 July 2025 as Head of Integrated Risk Management. In his current role, he has been instrumental in institutionalising unified risk governance architecture across the lending, insurance, and payments ecosystem. He has aligned risk frameworks and internal controls to establish a robust, technology-driven “Second Line of Defence” for the group. Before this, he spent more than 23 years at ICICI Bank, where he led multiple functions and built high-performing teams. His expertise spans credit and policy functions across SME, MSME, and supply chain financing segments, as well as retail and business banking distribution, with strong capabilities in managing scale and integrating complex risk frameworks. Khetan is a 2001-batch Chartered Accountant with over 24 years of extensive experience in banking, specialising in credit appraisal, credit risk, market risk, and operational risk.

Most recently, Anantharaman served as CRO at Bank of Baroda. Earlier, at HDFC Bank, he was Joint Head of Wholesale Credit, overseeing a USD 13 billion credit portfolio. As Group CRO at L&T Finance Holdings, he led enterprise-wide risk management and implemented digital underwriting architectures. Internationally, he has held senior roles at Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait, Commercial Bank of Kuwait, and Gulf Bank, where he strengthened risk frameworks and governance practices. Anantharaman is a seasoned banker with over 30 years of experience in managing credit, market, and operational risks. An Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and a Chartered Financial Analyst, he has held several senior leadership roles across leading financial institutions.
