Sabih Khan Appointed Apple’s Chief Operating Officer, Succeeding Jeff Williams

Sabih Khan has been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Apple, succeeding Jeff Williams.

Williams will continue supporting Apple’s design and health teams before retiring later this year.

Khan oversees Apple’s global supply chain, managing product quality, planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and fulfilment. He also leads Apple’s supplier responsibility programmes focused on worker protection and education. Before Apple, he worked at GE Plastics as an applications development engineer and key account technical leader. Since joining Apple in 1995, he has contributed to the launch of every major product, playing a key role in scaling operations to meet global demand. Khan holds bachelor’s degrees in economics and mechanical engineering from Tufts University and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Williams oversees Apple’s global operations, customer service, and support. He leads the design team and directs software and hardware engineering for Apple Watch while also spearheading the company’s health initiatives focused on technology and medical research. Before Apple, he held various roles in operations and engineering at IBM from 1985 to 1998. He joined Apple in 1998 as head of Worldwide Procurement and played a central role in the company’s entry into the mobile phone market with the launch of the iPhone. Since 2010, he has led operations for all Apple products and was instrumental in the development of the Apple Watch. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University and an MBA from Duke University.
