S. Sunder Krishnan Appointed as Chief Risk Officer at LIC

S. Sunder Krishnan has been appointed as Chief Risk Officer (Key Managerial Personnel) of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) with effect from December 27, 2023. He replaced Pratap Chandra Paikray.

S. Sunder Krishnan is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). During his professional tenure, he has always been a part of a leadership team, heading several functions such as Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit, Claims, Secretarial, Legal, Information Security, Fraud Prevention and Mid-Office Management of Investments. He has worked with Reliance Nippon Life Insurance for 18 years. Also, he has work experience in leadership roles at DSP Merrill Lynch, ING Vysya, Credit Lyonnais Bank, and Bank International Indonesia. He has worked in senior management at Ernst & Young and other ventures. He was a recipient of the best professional award for the year by ICAI in 2011. He was also awarded as the best CRO of the year on a few occasions by several forums for the use of analytical systems. He has served as a member of the Standing Committee for Finance and Investments (IRDAI) and a member of the Core Committee to devise paperless insurance policies. He has also served as the President of ISDCA, Mumbai.
