Rishit Jhunjhunwala Named Group CEO As Truecaller CEO Alan Mamedi and CSO Nami Zarringhalam Set To Step Down
To focus on the long-term strategy of the Swedish caller identification app, Truecaller’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alan Mamedi and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) Nami Zarringhalam will step down from their respective roles. The company’s Board appointed Rishit Jhunjhunwala, Chief Product Officer and Managing Director (MD) of India, as Group CEO.
In a board meeting on November 6, Truecaller co-founders Mamedi and Zarringhalam announced that they will continue to serve as strategic advisors to the company until June 30, 2025. Stepping back from day-to-day operations will allow them to focus on the company’s long-term plans while the leadership team drives Truecaller’s growth and expansion.
Jhunjhunwala will assume the role of Group CEO on January 9. Currently serving as the MD of Truecaller’s India division, he has been with the company since 2015 and has worked closely with Mamedi and Zarringhalam.
Last year, Mamedi revealed that Truecaller’s goal is to increase its user base in India to 400–500 million by 2026, primarily due to the growing smartphone market. In October 2023, Truecaller acquired Unoideo Technologies, the company behind TrustChecker, a fraud detection service.
