Richard Parsons, Renowned Troubleshooter In Media & Finance, Passes Away At 76

Richard D. Parsons, who led major companies through times of crisis, passed away from cancer at his Manhattan home on December 26, 2024, at the age of 76. He is remembered for his work with Time Warner, Citigroup, CBS, and the Los Angeles Clippers, where his leadership helped navigate corporate emergencies.

Parsons, who was well-known for his smooth management style and extensive network, had tackled crises like the AOL-Time Warner merger collapse, Citigroup’s 2008 financial troubles, and the fallout at CBS and the Clippers. He was a vocal advocate for social justice and had also founded the Equity Alliance to support ventures led by women and people of colour. Throughout his career, he used his background as an aide to Nelson A. Rockefeller and his expertise to resolve complex corporate issues. Parsons was involved in several philanthropic efforts, including the Apollo Theatre and the fight for social justice.
