RBI Welcomes Indranil Bhattacharyya As Executive Director

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed Indranil Bhattacharyya as Executive Director, effective March 19, 2025.

Before this, he was an adviser in the monetary policy department. As Executive Director, he will oversee the Department of Economic and Policy Research. He has nearly three decades of experience in monetary policy, fiscal policy, banking, and international economic relations. He has worked in multiple RBI departments, including monetary policy, economic and policy research, and the international department. Bhattacharyya also served as an economic expert in the technical office of the governor at Qatar Central Bank for five years. Bhattacharyya holds a postgraduate degree in economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.
