RBI Approves Isha Ambani, Anshuman Thakur, And Hitesh Sethia As Directors Of Jio Financial Services

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the appointment of Isha Ambani, Anshuman Thakur, and Hitesh Kumar Sethia as Directors of Jio Financial Services. The approval was granted on November 15, and it is valid for six months.

Isha Ambani, who recently joined the RIL Board, is part of the leadership team at Reliance Retail. She played a key role in launching Jio in India in 2016 and is now leading the expansion of Reliance Retail into new categories and geographies. She has an MBA from Stanford University and is a graduate of Yale University.

Anshuman Thakur has 24 years of experience in corporate strategy and investment banking. Currently the Senior Vice President at Jio Platforms Limited, he is responsible for strategy and planning functions. He has an MBA from IIM-Ahmedabad.

Hitesh Sethia, a chartered accountant and Harvard Business School alumnus, has over two decades of experience in financial services across different regions. He has worked with ICICI Bank in various capacities, including roles in Canada, Germany, the UK and Hong Kong.

The company board had recommended the appointments of Isha Ambani and Anshuman Thakur as non-executive Directors in a meeting on July 7. Hitesh Kumar Sethia’s appointment as Managing Director and CEO of Reliance Strategic Investments Limited, now renamed Jio Financial Services (JFS).
