Rahul Kanwal Joins NDTV As Editor-In-Chief & CEO

Rahul Kanwal has joined New Delhi Television Limited (NDTV) as Editor-In-Chief and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective May 26, 2025. His tenure with the India Today Group ended on May 23, where he held key roles including News Director of TV Today Network and Executive Director of Business Today.

Kanwal is a journalist with over 25 years of experience in television and digital news. He founded the Anti-Fake News War Room (AFWA) and the Open Source Intelligence Desk (OSINT), focusing on misinformation tracking and data-led journalism. He has held senior editorial roles at Aaj Tak, India Today, Headlines Today, Zee News, and Business Today. Kanwal was the face of India Today’s primetime show ‘Newstrack’ and hosted the interview series ‘Jab We Met’. He studied journalism at Delhi University, completed a course in International Broadcast Journalism from Cardiff University, and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s General Management Programme. He has received the Chevening Scholarship and Rory Peck Trust Grant for training in hostile environment journalism.
