
Pilar López To Succeed Luka Mucic As Vodafone CFO
Vodafone Group Plc has appointed Pilar López as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Designate, effective October 1, 2025. She will succeed Luka Mucic, who will step down on November 30, 2025.
López will formally assume the role of Group CFO and Executive Director on December 1, 2025, following a transition period. She joins Vodafone after ten years at Microsoft, where she held roles including Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Western Europe and Country General Manager for Spain. Previously, she worked at Telefónica for 16 years in senior financial and strategic roles. She began her career at J.P. Morgan and currently serves as a Non-Executive Director at Inditex S.A. López holds a degree in finance from Comillas Pontifical University. She succeeds Mucic as part of Vodafone’s planned leadership transition.
Mucic was appointed Group CFO and a member of the Vodafone Group Plc Board in September 2023. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer of SAP SE from 2014 to March 2023 and as COO from 2014 to 2017. He joined SAP in 1996 and held various leadership roles in global finance and administration, overseeing M&A, legal, risk management, and sustainability. He served as CFO for SAP’s DACH region before joining the Global Managing Board in 2013. He also led SAP’s Taulia and Signavio business units. Mucic holds a law degree from the University of Heidelberg and an Executive MBA from Mannheim Business School and ESSEC Paris. He is a Supervisory Board member at Heidelberg Materials AG.
