
Patricia Cobian Appointed As First Female CFO Of BT Group, Succeeding Simon Lowth
UK telecom company BT Group has appointed Patricia Cobian as its incoming Chief Financial Officer (CFO), succeeding Simon Lowth, who will retire this year after nearly a decade in the role.
Cobian currently serves as CFO of Virgin Media O2 and is expected to join BT in mid-2025.
Cobian is a senior finance executive with extensive experience in the UK and European telecoms sector. Before Virgin Media O2, she was CFO of O2 UK from 2016 and a Supervisory Board member of Telefónica Deutschland from 2012 to 2020, where she led key M&A deals and partnerships. Cobian joined O2 in 2006 after seven years at McKinsey & Company, where she worked across London, New York, and Madrid in TMT and corporate finance. She holds an MSc in Industrial Engineering from ICAI–Comillas Pontifical University.
