Parth Jindal Appointed As Chairman Of Akzo Nobel India; Rajiv Rajgopal Redesignated As CEO & Joint MD

Akzo Nobel India Limited appointed Parth Jindal as Chairman effective January 9, 2026, subject to approval by shareholders. In addition, Rajiv Rajgopal has been redesignated as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Joint Managing Director (Jt MD).

Further, Shantanu Maharaj Khosla has been appointed as an Independent Director effective the above-mentioned date.

Jindal is the MD of JSW Cement & JSW Paints and serves as a Director on the Boards of several JSW Group companies. He has earlier worked with JFE Steel and JSW Steel Ltd. With over 14 years of experience, his work spans management and finance. He is the founder of JSW Sports Pvt. Ltd. and serves as Chairman and Co-Owner of the Delhi Capitals franchise. He also established the Inspire Institute of Sport and is a Director at JSW Ventures and JSW USA. Under his leadership, JSW Sports received the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar in 2018. He has been recognised with the GenNext Entrepreneur Award at the Forbes India Leadership Awards 2024 and featured in Economic Times 40 Under Forty. Jindal holds a BA from Brown University and an MBA from Harvard University.

Rajgopal has over 31 years of experience, he has worked across FMCG, lubricants, and telecom sectors. He joined AkzoNobel in 2013 as Head of Sales & Marketing for Decorative Paints and became Country General Manager for India in 2014. In 2017, he was appointed Regional Director for Performance Coatings in the Middle East and Africa. Earlier, he served as CEO of Broadband and Data at Bharti Airtel and worked with Hindustan Unilever and BP Castrol. He is a chemical engineer from the University of Mumbai and holds an MMS from SPJIMR.

Khosla currently serves on multiple company Boards and is an Operating Partner at Advent. He has around 43 years of professional experience across consumer goods and leadership roles. He began his career in 1983 with Procter & Gamble (P&G) as a management trainee in marketing and worked with the company for 32 years until 2015. During this period, he held roles across India, the UK, Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore. He was appointed Managing Director of P&G India in 2002, a role he held until 2015. He later became the first Managing Director of Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals in 2015. Khosla holds a BTech from IIT Bombay and an MBA from IIM Calcutta.
