P.R. Ramesh Appointed As Vice Chairman Of Cipla; Robert Stewart To Retire As Independent Director

P.R. Ramesh, Lead Independent Director of Cipla Limited, has been appointed as Vice Chairman of the company with effect from April 1, 2026.

Further, Robert Stewart will be completing his tenure as an Independent Director of the company and will retire effective May 13, 2026.

Ramesh retired as Director at Deloitte India in 2020 and has served on Deloitte’s global and Asia Pacific boards. He has been part of committees of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Reserve Bank of India (RBI), and Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI). He serves on the Boards of companies including Nestle India, Larsen and Toubro, and Tejas Networks. Ramesh is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and a commerce graduate from Osmania University. He has over 40 years of experience across sectors, including banking, technology, energy, and consumer business.

Stewart currently serves as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Theramex. He has over three decades of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. He has worked with organisations including Roche, Abbott, Allergan, Amneal Pharmaceuticals, and Theramex. His experience includes manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and commercial operations. He has also served on Boards of industry and non-profit organisations, including a tenure on the Amneal Board. Stewart holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is associated with Boards of Cipla group entities in the United States and Europe.
